If you haven’t yet tried mineral makeup, now is the time. There have never been more choices, and with the competition heating up, it’s the consumer who stands to win. While the cosmetics companies duke it out to see who comes out on top, you can take advantage of all the latest research on nanoparticalized minerals. Trouble Finding CPAP Masks

Posted By Admin on May 9, 2008 @ 11:28 am

My wife suffers from sleep apnea, though we sort of have it under control.  Many years ago (I just can’t remember), we went to speak with our doctor about what we could do with respect to her sleep apnea.

He suggested that we pick up a CPAP machine that would ensure that her breathing would remain constant throughout the night.  It has worked remarkably well, and things have been much better since she has used the machine.

But we are having a problem right now finding a sleep apnea mask for her.  We have checked the many CPAP Supply outlets in town, but for whatever reason, they are all out of stock.

It looks that we might have to find an online supplier and get them there - she can’t be without one for long.

Learning About Medical Insurance

Posted By Admin on March 1, 2008 @ 10:56 am

I have been considering that maybe I should be taking out some affordable individual health insurance for myself.  You see, just recently I have decided to work at home and I am no longer under the blanket insurance policy that the corporation I worked for provided.

Even though I am as healthy as a horse, I worry that if I should get sick, that I may run into problems getting any type of coverage.  Speaking of things that may happen, I should be looking at accident health insurance as well - even though I am at home, it doesn’t mean that an accident won’t happen.

I should add to my list to get individual vision insurance as well.  It would be nice to have the option to replace my glasses should I need a pair and not pay an arm and a leg for them.

Now that I have a list, I will have to do some research on the health insurance companies before I take out a plan - but thankfully I can do that at home and online.  Once I know more about the options out there, I will talk to an insurance broker - but first I have to learn.

A Shocking Blow

Posted By Twyla on January 7, 2008 @ 1:00 pm

Medicare Health Insurance is something that a lot of us take for granted until we actually need to use it. Only a few months ago, we were dealt with the crushing blow that my husband had diabetes. It was quite a shocker for us, as he has always been very healthy and there were no diabetics in his family. He was just all of a sudden violently ill one day and as soon as the emergency doctor saw him, he knew that it was insulin that he needed.

He was, of course, treated right away and the questions of Medicare supplement were brought up later, when he was feeling better. It was then that we realized that we didn’t have the proper coverage and had neglected to obtain it before it was needed.

The people at the hospital, as well as the people with Medicare were very good to us. We were offered free diabetes supplies to get us through until we could get the coverage that we needed. It has been hard, but we are dealing with the disease and it is now completely under control.

A Job I Can Feel Good About

Posted By Admin on December 23, 2007 @ 8:05 am

I do research for  company that creates and sells Biotek Ephedrine. My job is to basically make sure the quality of the drug is good and to do continuing research on various side effects and how the drug affects people differently. The company for which I work, is very cautious with people’s health and well-being, and if the drug was going to be harmful to someone, they would rather make sure all the warning labels were intact and lose out on the sale.

The integrity of the company is one reason in which I have continued to work here for many years. They have a large label on every box, warning of side effects and dangers of the drug, so people will see it, even before they buy Ephedrine.

The main purpose of the company is to create Ephedrine for asthma. It is very well known that it can greatly help many asthma sufferers and, although it is available over the counter, the box clearly states that it is best used as prescribed by your doctor. I am proud to be a part of a drug company that still has integrity.

Organic Baby

Posted By Twyla on December 17, 2007 @ 8:53 pm

When I found out that I was expecting my first child, a son, my life really changed. I started to be more conscious about everything to what I ate and what kinds of chemicals surrounded me everyday. This prompted me to look into things like organic baby clothes. I wanted to give my baby the healthiest start possible and keep him free of all contaminants that could cause harm.

Organic baby clothing has really caught on and it is not to hard to find anymore. If you look in the right places, you will be amazed at what is available. I have since stocked the baby’s complete wardrobe and it is all totally organic.

I also looked into purchasing organic baby bedding and was pleased at the selection offered as well. I got an assortment of crib sheets, some receiving blankets and I was even able to purchase an organic crib mattress. I am really happy that I decided to go this route and am now patiently awaiting his arrival.

Postpartum Depression Affects Men Too

Posted By Admin on @ 7:40 pm

I am happy to say that I am married with two children.  They are both great kids and we are so blessed to have them.  Though our first child was an easy experience, when we had the second one it was completely different.

You see, after the birth of my daughter, my wife ended up with postpartum depression.  I don’t know if you have ever lived with someone that is depressed, but it was tough.  All she wanted to do was sleep, and when she was awake, she was not the same woman I married - she was very different.

In an attempt to fight the depression, we were prescribed generic Zoloft.  I picked it up at the pharmacy (which was a welcome break) and returned home.  She tried it out for a couple of weeks, but it seemed to be ineffective on her.

So back to the doctor we went.  The second time around we were told to buy Paxil and give it a try.  Another couple of weeks went by and she made some remarkable improvements.  Things seemed to be going along a lot better for her, but not so much for me.

I made a special trip to the doctor and found out that I was depressed too.  Seems that living with a woman with postpartum depression was not so good for me, and I ended up needing medication as well.  When I was given my prescription, I went home to order Prozac online - I didn’t want her to know.

Thankfully, about six months later, our depression was gone and we were able to discontinue using the medication.  At least now we know what signs we should be looking for when we have our next baby - if we notice any signs of depression we will be off to the doctor right away.

Send Pimples Packing: Effective Acne Treatment

Posted By Twyla on December 12, 2007 @ 9:10 pm

I can sum up pimples and acne in one statement: they are an eyesore.  I have yet to meet someone that thinks acne is attractive (though I am sure someone thinks that way), and for those of you out there with acne, I am sure you want to get rid of it.

I am sure you have tried tons of different cleansers, but did you know that there are many acne treatment alternatives to cleansers?  That’s right, you don’t have to use some soap that feels like you are rubbing your head on the pavement - try one of these two alternatives.

For those of you with sever acne, or just a desire to get rid of it all quickly, try Vilantae.  It is available at your local drug store and online without a prescription so you could get some tonight.  Reading the list of side effects, you will find that they are very minor with the worst of it being a chance of diarrhea or an upset stomach.

For those of you that don’t like using medicines all the time, there is another option.  All you need to do to get rid of your acne is to increase your intake of Vitamin B5 - and let it work its’ magic.  You can take a B-complex vitamin or multi-vitamin each day and watch your acne fade away (did you catch the rhyme?).

So, quit using those cleansers and send your pimples packing using one of the above proven, pimple fighting methods.

Do you see my Braces? I am Sure you Cannot

Posted By Admin on December 11, 2007 @ 7:37 pm

How many of you that know me can see my braces?  Anyone?  Well I bet you cannot.  Let me tell you why.

You see, a few month ago, I decided that it was time to do something about my smile.  My teeth have never really been straight, and I had been noticing lately that people were looking at my teeth and not me when I was talking to them.  It makes it very hard to sell them anything, so I knew it was time to do something.

So, I went to the orthodontist to explore my options.  I was worried that I would have to get those ugly metal braces and not solve the problem of people looking at my teeth.

Thankfully, he had another option.  He suggested I should get Invisalign, a brand of invisible braces that had the same effect as the traditional ones, without the eyesore.  The price was a bit more, but for my line of work, it is important that I look the best I can.

Now, people look at me, not my teeth.  Sure they are not straight yet, but it is a work in progress.  The best part is that no one has noticed my Invisalign yet - but now I am sure you will look for it the next time you see me.

Skin Care

Posted By Twyla on @ 1:47 am

I have always been blessed with beautiful skin. I am nearing thirty and I can count on one hand how many pimples I have had in my entire lifetime. Because of this, I have never put too much thought into skin care. I guess my thinking was that I didn’t need to fix something that was already perfect. What I didn’t realize was the damage that was being caused to my skin, overtime, because of this very thinking.

I was recently to a spa class at my friend’s house, where a line of skin care products was being promoted. I was instructed to take my perfect skin into the bathroom and shine a black light on my face. If there were any blotches, this indicated damage caused by the sun and elements and these spots would eventually show up as age spots. Wow, what a reality check. My skin may be perfect now, but I cringe to think what it may look like in twenty years because of my ignorance.

That night I went home with a line of skin care products that were guaranteed to, if used properly, to stop the damage that was being caused. I also took home a cellulite treatment to try, because although no one can see it, I know it is there. So, young girls, don’t take your perfect skin for granted. Protect it now.
