Watching the Flight of the Living Dead

Posted By Admin on May 5, 2008 @ 10:56 am

Since I found a website that had a review of the Flight of the Living Dead, I have needed to watch the movie.  You see, I am a big zombie movie fan, and I knew that I couldn’t miss one, even if it wasn’t produced by George Romero.

So, on the way home from work tonight, I will go rent it - it should be a blast!

Our Church Club

Posted By Twyla on February 24, 2008 @ 10:15 am

A bunch of the ladies form my church get together once a month to have a social outing and to work on scrapbooking. It is a lot of fun and fellowship. The only problem is that we seem to do a lot more visiting and snacking than we do scrapbooking. That is until we started our Canadian scrapbook supplies club.

We found a few places to order scrapbook supplies Canada in bulk and wholesale prices, so now whenever we get together, we all pool together and place a large order for supplies. This saves us a lot of money and, even if we do a lot of visiting and snacking, we feel like we have accomplished something.

Since we started the scrapbooking supplies Canada club, we have found out about so many new techniques and I think our books are starting to look really amazing. I am glad to have such good and creative friends and I feel like I am a better scrapbooker now than I was even two months ago.

A Unique Birthday Present for my Wife

Posted By Admin on February 8, 2008 @ 8:52 am

For those of you out there that are married, do you find that it gets harder each year to find something unique and special for your spouse on their birthday?

I sure do.  We have been together for almost ten years now, and it gets harder each year to figure out what to get her.  This year, I decided that I would do something different and “make” her something - custom T shirts.

She is a big fan of scrapbooking and I thought that she would appreciate it if I went to one of those “make your own T shirt” sites and made her a shirt.  There were quite a few sites to choose from, but I picked one that was based in my own country and started working on it.

I thought it would be easy to design your own T shirt - but for me it was tough.  I am not too creative, and the fact that it had to be something that she would wear made it that much harder.  But after an hour or so, I did finally make one that I think she will like.

It will be here before her birthday, and it will be interesting to see her reaction - I hope she loves it.

Our Groupie Reviews

Posted By Twyla on January 17, 2008 @ 12:38 pm

My friends and I always write the best reviews after we have been to a concert. It is not our job, and no one else ever sees them, but we keep them all in a book and we have a lot of fun doing it.

We have no problem writing down when we go to a show that is full of just cool stuff. That could be anything from the music to the choreography to the souvenirs that are offered for sale.

On the same hand, we also love to write reviews on concerts that are full of just stupid stuff. That way we can remember never to go and see them again. It does give us a good laugh when we look back at them.

We have found a few very cool websites that are willing to post some of our reviews on their blogs. This way, other people can see them and decide for themselves whether they agree with us or not.

Looking for Stress Relief Online

Posted By Admin on January 1, 2008 @ 5:14 am

As this New Year has rolled around, I am feeling kind of stressed.  You see, I worked last night as a bartender at an event at our local arena and it was busy.  I have been doing this for a number of years now, and this would have to have been the busiest.

I just couldn’t believe how many drinks I poured - if I could guess, it would be in the thousands.  Needless to say, even though the money was good, I sure feel stressed out from the amount of work I did tonight.

I think I will sit down after I am done this blog post and play some online games.  I have one favorite site I play casino games and another where I play classic games.  I think something simple that doesn’t require much thinking is in order - I am going to play a little Frogger.

So, I should quit blogging here and just go play.  Sadly, the sun will be up in four hours, so I should play for a bit and go to bed.  Happy New Year!

My Son’s Christmas List

Posted By Admin on December 11, 2007 @ 11:58 pm

It is that time of year when my son makes up his Christmas list.  I find what he asks for amusing sometimes and other times it is quite shocking.  For example, last year he wanted a toy turtle and a shell.  This year, it is a little different.  Whether it is because he has watched too much television, or he is picking it up from school, this year is much different.

Just the other day he came up to me and said:

"Can I get a Wii for Christmas dad?"

Well, I cannot say that I was expecting him to ask for video game systems at such a young age - but if that is what he wants, I will see what I can do.  Thing is if I bought the system, I would need to buy Wii games too, right?

Well, instead of buying everything myself, I decided to pass a list of games to his uncle and grandparents and they could each buy him one.  I made sure to mention that he loves Super Mario, so he should get a couple of games that he likes.

I was going to ask for an Xbox 360 and some games for Christmas, but after reading some Xbox360 game reviews, I decided against it.  My son would want to play with me, and the games are just not appropriate for his age.

Even though my son will be getting a Wii for Christmas, it will be in fact a family gift.  Just because we are parents, it doesn’t mean that we won’t want to play too.

Anniversary Gift for the Wife

Posted By Admin on December 6, 2007 @ 7:43 pm

Well, I am proud to say that I have been married now for three years.  I know that it may not seem like a lot of time, but we have had good times and bad times over the past three years.  There were even a few points where it looked like things wouldn’t work out, but somehow we made it.

So, I have decided to get my wife something special, just for her, for our anniversary.  You see, we have been playing World of Warcraft (WOW) twice a week for the past few months and that is our time for a date.  We both sit at our own computers and play together, and have a good time talking to one another.

So, I thought that I could buy her something related to the game because I know that she would enjoy it.  I couldn’t buy her some WOW guides, as I bought her one for her birthday.  I wanted to get her something special that she would like.

I decided to buy us each some high level WOW accounts so that we could play areas that were further on in the game.  We don’t have a lot of time to play, and by purchasing high level characters, we would save ourselves a lot of time.  I also bought some WOW gold, so that I can buy her a special bow that she has been talking about for a long time.

We are exchanging gifts tomorrow while we are out for supper.  I hope she likes it, and I hope that year four is our best year yet!

Tired of Solitaire

Posted By Twyla on November 24, 2007 @ 9:44 am

Most of you out there that have a Windows based computer are probably familiar with Solitaire, right?  Well, if you are not, you are missing out on a game that you can spend hours of your life playing.  It has been one of the most enjoyable games I have played - that is until today.

You see, I was searching online for some fun games to play - I was sure there were other games out there besides solitaire.  What I had not counted on was the fact that there were many, many more games out there to play.

I started playing some fun action games - with Scrabble being my favorite.  I have been a big fan of the game since I was little, and it was a pleasure to play it online.

I was looking through the fun puzzle games and found the successor to solitaire - Mah Jong.  Now, this was a lot more complicated than solitaire, but a lot more fun as well.  I found myself playing the game over and over, getting better each time.  I will have to buy the game in real life, so I can take it with me when I don’t have my computer handy.

So, there is life beyond solitaire after all.  I think that I will have to take a break from solitaire to play these new games for awhile - they sure do seem like fun.

Mario Layout on MySpace

Posted By Twyla on November 11, 2007 @ 9:16 pm

Some of you out there know that I am a big Super Mario fan.  I have played most of the games that have been made - and a lot of them I can play with my eyes closed.

Some of you might call me a fanatic of sorts - I have Mario clothes, backpack, laptop bag and jacket.  I also have some Mario pajamas for at night - don’t laugh!

So, I have decided that a good video game Myspace layout, specifically Mario, would be perfect for my profile page.  Really, the whole point of Myspace is to express yourself and who you are - so that is exactly what I was going to do.

I checked out some of the free MySpace layouts from many sites and found a Mario one!  I was so excited that I changed my profile as quick as I could.  Now, when I login to my account, I see Mario looking at me - and that puts a smile on my face.  It is definitely one of my favorite Myspace layouts.

Spicing Up My Facebook Profile

Posted By Admin on November 3, 2007 @ 2:03 am

I have been staring at my Facebook profile for the last few days.  It has just occurred to be that it is kind of boring.  In fact, it is one of the most boring-est profiles I have seen.  Honestly, I don’t know if there is anything on there that I would even want to see, let alone anyone else.

Looking at my friends profiles I noticed a few things: everyone was different.  Some of the profiles were sparse with little information or applications on them.  While others (like my sister’s) were horribly cluttered - it seemed like it was filled with endless junk.

I wanted mine to be different.  I wanted it to reflect my personality - I try to be a fun and sometimes crazy guy.  So I decided perhaps that a few funny pictures would be a start.

I did have some "appropriate" pictures on my hard drive that I have been collecting for awhile.  I added a few and it looked better.  There was still something missing though.

I looked at some other friend’s pages, and I found the one thing I was missing:  video.  Funny videos would spice the pages up, especially with the one’s I found most funny - it would definitely show my character.

So, I added the pictures and videos and asked some of my friends to check it out - and everyone likes the new profile so far.
