An Afternoon With My iPhone

Posted By Twyla on February 7, 2008 @ 3:56 pm

Now, it may seem like I am talking about having a date with my phone, but I just can’t stop talking about it.  I would have to say it is my favorite gadget I have ever owned, so I like to fool around with it a bit.

This afternoon I have been checking out the latest iPhone ringtones and uploading them to my phone.  There is just something about having a phone that rings differently than everyone else - it makes everyone look your way.

I just still haven’t figured out which of the MP3 ringtones that I am going to finally settle on, but in the meantime, I am downloading as many as I can.  That way I can have a good selection of tones to choose from, and I could change them depending on my mood.

I have only had one setback this afternoon: I was trying to upload some of my old, favorite Cingular ringtones, but they just don’t sound as good on the iPhone as the new ones do.  Anyway, I think I am going to go back to downloading ringtones - I am having too much fun!

Complete Portable Media Solution

Posted By Admin on November 15, 2007 @ 11:50 pm

I am amazed at the number of gadgets I carry around on a daily basis.  I have my mobile phone, my digital camera, my mp3 player and a Palm pilot.  Now, it is okay on days that I am going to work and I bring my briefcase, but on days that I have off, it looks like I have a utility belt - which sure is not cool.

So, I have been looking over the mobile phone deals in a flyer I found in the mail, trying to get a complete portable media solution that can do everything that my current gadgets do - without the excess weight.

Just as I was about to give out, the answer leaped out at me: the Samsung G600.  Now what sets the G600 apart from every other mobile phone is it can do everything I am looking for and more.  In fact music, pictures, text messaging and even a TV-out come standard with the camera - I could say bye to my utility belt if I bought one….

With that thought in mind, I am going to head down to the store right now, buy the phone, and enjoy the freedom of only carrying one gadget.  That will be a lifestyle change for me.

The Samsung u600

I was out today looking at mobile phones at a local retailer.  One phone in particular caught my eye: the Samsung u600.

One word came to mind: thin.

I mean really thin.  The phone is only 10.9 mm thick.  Don’t let the size fool you though.  This phone is jam-packed with features that you would expect from a bigger phone.  You can find a 3 megapixel camera, MP3 player, and Bluetooth come standard.  In terms of battery life, the Samsung u600 boasts up to five hours talk time with just over ten days in standby mode.

There are only a couple of problems (or possible problems) with this phone.  The biggest problem for me is the lack of voice dial - it seems strange that my older Samsung phone has it but this one doesn’t.  I also found the cap for the USB charger and micro SD slot to be a little more fragile than expected.
