Looking for a Good Deal on Gas

Posted By Admin on March 13, 2008 @ 12:09 am

I have been known to drive around town in attempt to save some money on gasoline.  Most of time I am able to save at least a couple of pennies per gallon - which makes me feel great.  I thought that I was doing myself a big favor by buying the gas at a discount, until I realized one thing:

I was wasting a lot of gas trying to “save” money.

In fact, in most cases, I was wasting more money trying to find a deal than if I just went to a gas station in my area.  After shaking my head a little bit (to try and get my brain working again), I decided that I should figure out a better way to save money on gas.

I asked the pump attendant while filling up what I could do to pay less at the pumps.  He suggested that I try getting a gas credit card and get paid for each time I put gas in my car.  I had to ask if the gas cards were new, and he said that he has had one for a long time.

The next time I am at the bank I will be inquiring about their gas credit cards.  Getting a discount everywhere I go sure seems like a good deal to me.

Keeping my Investments Covered

Posted By Admin on February 22, 2008 @ 1:41 pm

Some people laugh at me when I say that my trucks and motorcycles are my investments.  Sure, they don’t put any money in my pockets, but I have sunk a lot of money into them, so instead of just thinking of them as toys, I treat them like they are more than that.

With the special treatment I give them, I also give them special care.  Not only are the regular maintenance checks done, but I make sure to was them at least once every two weeks, and more frequently in the winter.

When I am not using them, I make sure that my investments are protected.  If you were to look in my garage, you would see a sea of truck covers and motorcycle covers.  This keeps the vehicles from both getting dirty and from fading since my garage has a lot of windows and a skylight.

My favorite type of protection that I have bought have been budge truck covers.  They have been both durable and reliable.  I made the mistake a few years ago to buy some covers that were on sale – it was easy to see why.  The quality was just not there.

So laugh all you will about how I take care of my vehicles, but if you ever saw any of them, you would understand why I do what I do – they are all in pristine condition even though I use them on a daily basis.

Race Ready. The Rossion Q1.

Posted By Admin on August 5, 2007 @ 3:21 am

Some of you out there like to race.  I know I do from time to time.  If you are in the market for a car that not only looks good, but is race ready from the factory I suggest you check out the Rossion Q1.

This car is the debut for Rossion Automotive.  They recently acquired the intellectual rights for the Noble M400 and M12 in the US.  The Rossion Q1 is the result of the refinement of these designs.

The look of the car has been changed to give the car both a sexy yet aggressive look while at the same time improving the cars aerodynamics.  The interior has been changed as well.  Now, the important gauges in front of the driver, and subtle improvements from the leather covered steering wheel to the Rossion stitch patterns, one is greeted with an enjoyable experience.

Weighing in at under 2,500 pounds, this supercar rockets from standstill to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds.  And with a 450 hp motor, the car can rocket to an estimated 185 mph.  Available with the racing drive train at a base price of $90,700, models will be shipped out beginning later on this year.

Some Cases for Discount Auto Insurance

Posted By Admin on July 9, 2007 @ 4:28 pm

Many different auto insurance companies offer a discount for different situations such as age, using the public transit system, and efforts you make to deter thieves.  Some details on some of the insurance discounts available are below:

Senior Discount

A large number of  auto insurance providers provide discounts for drivers over the age of 55.  Most of the discounts range between five and ten percent per year.  Sometimes there are some conditions such as needing to take a defensive driver course.

Using the Public Transit System

There has been some talk online about a discount offered by Massachusetts auto insurance companies.  If you use the transit system as your primary means of transportation and meet certain criteria, you get a discount on your car insurance.  I can see this discount appearing in different states as well.

Deterring Thieves

There are a lot of insurance claims due to thieves.  Whether they steal your vehicle or cause damage, they cost insurance companies millions of dollars per year.  Some companies now offer reduced insurance rates if you take steps to make your vehicle less attractive to thieves.  Such things as etching your VIN number into your widows or installing an anti-theft system will reduce your insurance premiums.

As with any other service, don’ be afraid to ask.  Your insurance broker will be happy to find the discounts you need to make your car insurance package cheaper.

I Love Fast Cars

Posted By Admin on July 3, 2007 @ 4:34 am

The thing I love most in this world is fast cars.  When the 2007 Mustang Shelby was coming out, I had to have one.  To me, nothing compares to a Ford Mustang.  Since they have been on the market for over four decades, how can you go wrong.

I worked my hands to the bones.  But I finally did it.  I got my first Mustang.  I know with the right Shelby performance parts, I would have a killer powerful car.

There is so much you can do to modify a beauty like my Shelby and yet she is so beautiful all on her own.  I started by upgrading her engine to a a 5.4 L V-8.  You can just feel the power.

The modifications had to stop there for awhile as I had to put my nose back to the grindstone to be able to afford more upgrades to my car.  Gradually I was able to mod other parts of her.  She now boasts adjustable dampers, lowering springs, stabilizer bars and a front strut-tower brace.  Next, we had to dress her up a bit.  With some personally designed logos and racing stripes, she came to life.

She is a dream come true and I am not finished with her yet.  I am after all a diva, and I love fast cars.
