Afraid of Applying for a Mortgage

Posted By Twyla on December 27, 2007 @ 2:54 pm

It is a very scary day for me. I am off to see one of those people who gives out mortgage loans. The scary thing is that I don’t know if I am eligible for one, but it is certainly worth the try. I am ready to own my home and I feel that I am now at a point in my life where I am responsible enough to handle a mortgage.

I have had some great mortgage leads, so I know what kind of price range that I would be needing and it is fairly low, so that should help in me getting approved. I am keeping my fingers very crossed.

I know a real estate place that will help me out if I do get approved and they will find me the very best deal possible. I am going to go there right as soon as I find out if I am approved.

I am applying for one of those FHA loans and I would love to be into a home as soon as possible. I know that these things take time, but I am willing to be patient. But, just a little bit!

Continuous Learning Important for Electronic Sales

Posted By Admin on @ 10:28 am

I have been selling electronics now for about nine years.  For some of you that is not a long time, but consider this:  I was the first person to sell a DVD burner at our store when they first came out for five hundred dollars.  Now, they are available for less than forty bucks, so things have changed a bit.

Another trend that I have seen as time has gone on is the way people listen to music.  Ten years ago, you would sell many shelf stereos and portable CD players, but that is no longer the case.  Now the iPod is the way that most people listen to music.  Since its’ introduction, I have been following along and learning how to do things.  Now, I am faced with learning about video conversion for the iPod Nano and iPod Touch.

The main way I get the information I need for tasks such as this is online.  I look for a tutorial site and try it out for myself.  In this case, I needed to find a site that would show me how to use a iPod Nano video converter and an iPod Touch video converter.

I checked out a site that I used in the past to learn how to convert iPod Classic video and they had the tutorials I needed.  A quick read, and an hour later, I now know what I am talking about.  I love this job for the fact that you always learn something new, just as I did today.  With a job like this, things should never get boring.

Camping Crocs

Posted By Twyla on December 26, 2007 @ 11:05 pm

My best friend recently gave me a pair of All Terrain Crocs. I had never heard of them before. We like to go hiking often and her grandmother had given her a pair for her birthday. She thought they were wonderful for hiking and I always thought that they looked a little bit flimsy and, therefore, could not offer much support. I was wrong.

The Croc shoes were, indeed, very comfortable and I enjoy wearing them to go hiking. I find that they keep the feet quite cool and I don’t really sweat in them. I don’t know if they have ventilation or something, but they are super comfortable.

There are a bunch of us that are going camping and hiking on the upcoming long weekend and I think my friend and I are going to have to get shares in the Crocs company. We can’t shut up about the shoes and our whole pack of friends is going to get a pair before the trip. It will be so great.

Buying Real Estate in North Carolina

Posted By Admin on December 25, 2007 @ 12:59 pm

With all the places in the world I could buy real estate, I am looking at North Carolina.  Specifically, I am looking at Asheville real estate.  Now, you might ask me why I would invest there, and the answer is simple - I have a lot of friends there.

Quite a few of my friends own Asheville condos and are very happy with them.  They have increased in value substantially since they bought them and they have bought other condos to rent out.  I have subscribed to a newsletter entitled "real estate for sale Asheville" which sends me weekly details on deals I can find in the region.

I haven’t found any deals that I want to jump on yet, but it doesn’t mean that I will stop looking.  Besides, I am not in a big rush, and I can wait to find a good investment property that fits my style instead of buying something that will be a bad investment.

Curiosity Saved Me Money

If you are planning a trip to Las Vegas anytime soon, be sure to look online for Luxor offer codes. I was lucky enough to find some good ones and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I had such a great time and the rooms were very nice and very clean.

I did not know that there were so many Las Vegas hotel discounts available over the Internet. I expected that my trip to Las Vegas was going to cost me way more than it actually did. I was happy that I had been curious enough to start checking things out on my computer.

My friend is actually the one who suggested that I do a search for Luxor discounts and see if I could come up with anything. I did and it was great. So, now I am telling everyone that is going to Vegas to do the same thing. It actually wouldn’t hurt to try it for any destination to which you may be traveling - you don’t know if you don’t try.

Purchasing for Profit

Posted By Twyla on December 23, 2007 @ 2:33 pm

I take a great interest in Greenville, SC real estate. I own a number of properties there already and I find it to be a good place to find reliable renters and leasers. I first started investing in real estate there about ten years ago and have not ever been disappointed in a purchase that I have made.

I pay especially close attention now, because I have enough equity built up that I could buy several properties, including apartment complexes and multi-family homes. These are what I am starting to lean more towards, as I find them to be better long term investments.

I have also been lucky enough to always have good tenants that both pay on time and make an effort to keep the houses in good shape. This is one of the main reasons I will always consider purchasing in Greenville.

A Job I Can Feel Good About

Posted By Admin on @ 8:05 am

I do research for  company that creates and sells Biotek Ephedrine. My job is to basically make sure the quality of the drug is good and to do continuing research on various side effects and how the drug affects people differently. The company for which I work, is very cautious with people’s health and well-being, and if the drug was going to be harmful to someone, they would rather make sure all the warning labels were intact and lose out on the sale.

The integrity of the company is one reason in which I have continued to work here for many years. They have a large label on every box, warning of side effects and dangers of the drug, so people will see it, even before they buy Ephedrine.

The main purpose of the company is to create Ephedrine for asthma. It is very well known that it can greatly help many asthma sufferers and, although it is available over the counter, the box clearly states that it is best used as prescribed by your doctor. I am proud to be a part of a drug company that still has integrity.

Financial Research Tool

Posted By Twyla on December 22, 2007 @ 6:15 am

I love to comparison shop.  I go from store to store to find the best deals.  Not only do I save some money, but I love it.  Just this past week I found out another thing that I am good at - finding good deals on financial products.

You see this week I was online doing some research for a friend regarding debt consolidation loans.  She is bogged down in debt and cannot make all her payments, so I was trying to find her a better solution than bankruptcy.  I found a few sites that had information that would help her out and I printed it off.

She had mentioned that they borrowed against their paychecks and I wanted to know how that worked.  I researched payday loans online to see how they worked - and I saw what her problem was.  The cash advances they were getting were not helping their situation out.

I thought I would take a look at other types of loans online.  I did some research for myself on home equity loans to find out how they worked.  I know our home has gone up in value this past year, and we were thinking of borrowing money against the house to build a garage.  I see that there are a lot of companies that offer these loans, so I will get to shop around (which is great).

So, for those of you who are like me and are in the market to get a loan, take a look online.  It is a great resource and research tool for you to shop around for the financial product that will be the best for you and your situation.

It’s Not What You Know

Posted By Twyla on December 19, 2007 @ 11:18 am

I am an agent for a major American rock star and part of my responsibilities to him is to make sure that everything is ready for him when he arrives in a city for a tour booking. It has always been an easy part of the job, until last June when he had a booking in New York City. I booked him into a nice hotel and made sure that his dressing room and hotel room were both stocked with the proper things. That was all good and then I called the New York limousine rental company that we always use when we are there, to book a cab from the airport to the hotel, only to be told that they were completely booked up.

I tried to pull the whole bit about who it was for and how famous he was, but they assured me that they could not just whip up another car, and if they could, they certainly would. I wanted to know why they were so busy, and aside from the concert, they informed me that Prom limousines in New York were always booked well in advance and that is exactly what was happening while we were there.

I apologized for being a jerk and they assured me they would contact me should anyone cancel or if they were able to procure another car. Meanwhile I contacted another NYC limo rental company that was more than happy to accommodate me, once they found out who it was for. It just goes to prove, it is all about who you know.

It All Started With Dirty Laundry

Posted By Twyla on December 18, 2007 @ 8:17 pm

While I was at the Laundromat the other day, washing a load of T-shirts, I was skimming through a magazine. While waiting for the clothes to dry, I was reading the advertisements in the magazine. This is not something I usually do, but I was really bored. I am glad that I did.

I came across the most perfect collegiate handbags at a really great price and I knew I had to have one. I tore the add out of the magazine (shhhh…don’t tell anyone) and took it home to my computer. I placed my order that day.

The website prompted me to look at some other things, such as belt buckles and Pakistan rugs. The products were all very nice and I had to force myself to close the browser before I spent money I didn’t have. Who knew doing laundry could be so expensive.
